HOW IT WORKS

A result to understand, not just read.

The estimate starts with Mifflin–St Jeor resting metabolism, applies an activity factor and then adjusts for the selected maintenance, gradual loss or gradual gain goal.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why can actual calorie needs differ?+

Activity estimates, body composition, medication, health conditions and unrecorded movement can all change real energy expenditure.

Is the macro split a personalised diet?+

No. It is an organisational estimate and not a meal plan or clinical nutrition prescription.

    RESULT GUIDE

How maintenance calories and macros are estimated

Resting energy is multiplied by an activity factor and goal adjustment. Protein is set from the selected grams per kilogram, fat receives 30% of calories and carbohydrate uses the remainder.

    01 · FORMULA

    From BMR to daily calories

Daily need ≈ Mifflin–St Jeor BMR × activity factor × goal adjustment

The activity factor is usually the least certain input, so a cautious selection and observation of the real weight trend are important.

    02 · WORKED EXAMPLE

    Example using the calculator defaults

    • man, age 40, 75 kg, 175 cm
    • light activity: factor 1.375
    • goal: maintain weight
Estimated BMR 1,649 kcal; maintenance about 2,267 kcal per day.

A weight trend observed over several weeks is more useful than a single theoretical result when refining the estimate.

03 · HOW TO READ IT

    How to interpret the result

    • BMR is estimated energy at rest, not a normal full-day food target.
    • The macro figures are a practical starting point rather than a medical diet.
    04 · LIMITS

What the estimate does not include

    • Not intended for minors, pregnancy, breastfeeding, eating disorders or clinical nutrition goals.
    • Large calorie deficits or therapeutic plans require a qualified health professional.
