HOW IT WORKS

A result to understand, not just read.

This calculator turns annual gross pay into an estimated annual and monthly take-home figure. It keeps cash salary, deductions and benefits separate so job offers with different pay schedules can be compared on the same basis.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Should I compare monthly or annual take-home pay?+

Compare annual take-home pay first. Monthly figures can be misleading when one offer has 12 payments and another includes a 13th or 14th salary.

Why can my payslip differ from the estimate?+

Payroll adjustments, local taxes, bonuses, benefits, personal allowances and deductions reported during the year can all change the final amount.

    RESULT GUIDE

How to estimate take-home pay from gross salary

Gross annual pay is not simply divided by twelve. Social contributions and income tax are estimated first, then allowances, credits, pay periods and deductions are applied according to the selected country profile.

    01 · FORMULA

    General calculation

Annual take-home ≈ taxable gross pay − contributions − tax + credits − net deductions

The exact rules depend on the country selected in the calculator. Benefits are shown separately because they may add value without increasing the cash paid into your account.

    02 · WORKED EXAMPLE

    Example with 13 salary payments

    • enter gross salary and taxable bonus separately
    • choose the relevant country and tax profile
    • select 13 annual payments
If estimated annual take-home pay is €36,400, the mathematical average over 13 payments is €2,800.

The 13th payment, bonuses and year-end adjustment may be taxed differently from an ordinary monthly payslip.

03 · HOW TO READ IT

    How to interpret the result

    • Use annual take-home pay to compare offers with different payment schedules.
    • Review tax, contributions, loans and other deductions separately to understand the gap between gross and net pay.
    04 · LIMITS

What the estimate does not include

    • The estimate cannot reproduce every collective agreement, local rule or personal payroll item.
    • For a binding decision, compare the result with an actual payslip, annual tax statement or qualified payroll calculation.
