HOW IT WORKS

A result to understand, not just read.

Convert length, mass, volume, speed and temperature without mixing incompatible quantities. The selected category limits the list to units that can be converted directly.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    How does unit converter work?+

For linear units the source value is normalised to a base unit and multiplied by the target factor; temperature uses its own offset formulas.

What should I check before relying on the result?+

Volume cannot be converted directly into weight without density. Use the dedicated volume, weight and density tool for that operation.

    01 · FORMULA

    Calculation method

    y = x × k

For linear units the source value is normalised to a base unit and multiplied by the target factor; temperature uses its own offset formulas.

    02 · WORKED EXAMPLE

    Practical example

    • Convert 10 inches to centimetres, 5 miles to kilometres or 90 km/h to metres per second.
The result keeps the original value, target value and unit symbols together for easy checking.

Volume cannot be converted directly into weight without density. Use the dedicated volume, weight and density tool for that operation.

03 · HOW TO READ IT

    How to interpret the result

    • Use enough decimal places for the task, but avoid presenting more precision than the original measurement supports.
    • Change one input at a time to understand which assumption has the greatest effect on the result.
    04 · LIMITS

What the estimate does not include

    • Volume cannot be converted directly into weight without density. Use the dedicated volume, weight and density tool for that operation.
    • Use the result as a planning aid and confirm sensitive financial, health or animal-care decisions with the relevant document or qualified professional.
