HOW IT WORKS

A result to understand, not just read.

Estimate the electricity used while televisions, consoles, chargers or network devices wait in standby. Devices that must remain powered can be separated from potentially avoidable consumption.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does standby electricity cost work?+

Watts are multiplied by quantity, standby hours and days, converted to kWh and then multiplied by the all-in electricity price.

What should I check before relying on the result?+

Do not disconnect equipment needed for safety, recordings, updates or connectivity. Sample wattages are not guaranteed for your model.

    RESULT GUIDE

How to use standby electricity cost

Estimate the electricity used while televisions, consoles, chargers or network devices wait in standby. Devices that must remain powered can be separated from potentially avoidable consumption.

    01 · FORMULA

    Calculation method

    kWh/a = W × n × h/d × d/a ÷ 1.000

Watts are multiplied by quantity, standby hours and days, converted to kWh and then multiplied by the all-in electricity price.

    02 · WORKED EXAMPLE

    Practical example

    • Replace the sample wattage with a meter reading or manufacturer figure and enter the hours each device actually waits.
The result shows annual kWh, total cost and the portion marked as potentially avoidable.

Do not disconnect equipment needed for safety, recordings, updates or connectivity. Sample wattages are not guaranteed for your model.

03 · HOW TO READ IT

    How to interpret the result

    • Start with devices that combine measurable standby power and long idle time; one tiny load may matter less than several networked products.
    • Change one input at a time to understand which assumption has the greatest effect on the result.
    04 · LIMITS

What the estimate does not include

    • Do not disconnect equipment needed for safety, recordings, updates or connectivity. Sample wattages are not guaranteed for your model.
    • Use the result as a planning aid and confirm sensitive financial, health or animal-care decisions with the relevant document or qualified professional.
